A TEEN thug who beat his ex-teacher to a pulp in an unprovoked attacked has failed in a desperate last bid to evade justice.
Lukas Mikoliunas, then 17, left innocent Christian Dawson for dead after ambushing him outside a garage last March.
Mr Dawson, 40, was left blood-soaked on the pavement after being punched several times in the head.
He was concussed, blinded for 24 hours and suffered horrific facial injuries which a surgeon likened to “crushed cornflakes”.
Brute Mikoliunas denied any involvement in the attack but was convicted of GBH in August following a one-day trial at Hull Youth Court.
He returned to court this week to overturn his conviction claiming mistaken identity but failed.
Mr Dawson, of Hull, East Yorks, was forced to relive his ordeal as he answered questions in court.
Recorder Roberts QC said while Mr Dawson’s process of identifying his attacker through Facebook was not “conventional”, it was “accurate and reliable”.
